Job summary

A financial services company in Singapore is seeking a Compliance Officer & Money Changer Sales Executive to monitor compliance, handle foreign currency transactions, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in money changing and AML compliance, along with strong analytical and customer service skills. Flexibility for weekend and holiday shifts is required.

  • Handle daily foreign exchange transactions and currency settlements.
  • Ensure compliance with MAS rules and reporting requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities: Money Changing / Compliance Officer Roles


I. Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a money changing business.
  • Proven track record in handling foreign currency exchange transactions.
  • At least 1 year of AML, sanctions, or compliance experience in the banking or financial sector.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Compliance-related certifications (e.g., AML, KYC) are an advantage

II. Core Responsibilities

A. Compliance Monitoring

  • Conduct KYC, CDD, and sanction screenings in line with MAS guidelines.
  • Monitor and assess suspicious transactions and activities.
  • Investigate escalations relating to money mules or fraud indicators.
  • File Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and liaise with authorities.
  • Conduct gap assessments and compliance audits.
  • Develop and implement internal compliance procedures.
  • Provide advisory support to business units on regulatory matters.

B. Money Changing Operations

  • Handle daily foreign exchange transactions and currency settlements.
  • Set and update exchange rates.
  • Perform end-of-day reconciliation and prepare transaction summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with MAS rules and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain high accuracy when handling large volumes of cash.

III. Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in basic math and exchange rate calculations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in cash handling.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word; knowledge of SWIFT or AML systems is a plus.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

IV. Other Requirements

  • Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and rotational shifts.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to manage high cash volumes securely.
  • Updated knowledge of AML trends, scams, and regulatory changes.
  • Ability to liaise effectively across teams and jurisdictions.
