An established industry player is seeking a Compliance Manager to enhance their ethics and compliance program. The Compliance Manager LCT reports to the Senior Ethics & Compliance (E&C) – Trading & Shipping (T&S) Manager for Low carbon Trading (LCT) and is responsible for supporting the compliance program by:
Promoting bp’s Values & Behaviours and Code of Conduct to uphold E&C’s strategy for bp to be recognized as an ethical company.
Monitoring business transactions and communications to mitigate compliance risks such as market manipulation, information flows, conflicts of interest, competition, ABC, and AML.
Providing timely and accurate mentorship to ensure compliance with external rules, regulations, and internal policies.
Developing and delivering training on regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Assessing and mitigating E&C risks through reviews, inquiries, and audits.
Building relationships with external stakeholders like exchanges and internal teams to support the E&C – T&S Program.
Understanding laws, regulations, and company standards relevant to global product supply and trading.
The ideal candidate will have:
A relevant university degree or equivalent experience; a law degree is a plus.
Experience with environmental carbon credits is advantageous.
Knowledge of traded products, markets, and strategies in physical and paper-based trading.
Strong integrity, judgment, and influence skills.
The ability to understand complex legal and regulatory concepts and communicate them effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills.
Experience in developing training materials and building stakeholder consensus.
