Job description

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain training matrices for each segment.

  • Manage the Competence Management System, specifying competencies for each vessel type.

  • Oversee training processes within the Safety Management System (SMS).

  • Collaborate with MQA to determine familiarization training requirements.

  • Ensure training provided to seafarers is relevant and addresses current challenges.

  • Plan and organize the annual seminar schedule.

  • Coordinate cadet planning.

  • Support the implementation of seafarer career development initiatives.

  • Facilitate and promote the officer-in-office program across the fleet.

  • Develop specific training requirements and objectives for TM, based on fleet feedback.

  • Ensure training requirements are met by CM and that training objectives are achieved.

  • Strategically map future competencies based on upcoming regulations and technological advancements.

  • Monitor compliance with the Competence Management System (OLP).

  • Maintain an overview of training budgets and ensure accountability.

Qualifications & experiences

  • Degree or Maritime college certifications

  • More than 5 years’ relevant experience in the shore based Maritime industry.

  • A track record of leading and managing change.
