Job description
Responsibilities:
• Conduct environmental scans to identify local resources, strengths, and assets within the community, focusing on creating synergies and leveraging these for community development.
• Engage in meaningful conversations with residents to identify community strengths and assets, fostering a collaborative approach to community development.
• Build strong and positive relationships with residents, local associations, and institutions, promoting a cohesive community environment.
• Mobilize community members interested in contributing to their community’s betterment, providing support and resources for their initiatives.
• Manage the recruitment of volunteers for various programs, ensuring a steady and reliable volunteer pool.
• Conduct volunteer orientation sessions, ensuring all volunteers understand and commit to the organization’s code of conduct.
• Identify and collaborate with suitable stakeholders, including corporate partners, community partners, and volunteers, to support the organization’s programs.
• Any other responsibilities or duties assigned.
Job Requirements
• Diploma / Degree in Social Work
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience in community development or volunteer management
• An excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possesses a keen interest in supporting less resourced families.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
• Good writing skills and comfortable with data collation for reporting purposes.
• Empathetic towards the needs and challenges of less resourced families.
• Capacity to reflect on key strengths, needs and motivated to enhance personal effectiveness and efficiency at work.
• Flexible, nimble, and able to adapt to organisational changes.
• Motivated towards learning and professional development.
• Willing and able to work on some weekday evenings and weekends.
