Job description

As an Executive, Community Engagement, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of community activities and events of the Singapore Hospice Council (SHC). You will support the Manager, Public Education and Community Engagement in working closely with stakeholders consisting of SHC member organisations, social service agencies (SSAs), corporations, government agencies, donors and volunteers to form partnerships and facilitate concerted efforts in increasing public awareness and education on hospice and palliative care in Singapore.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Planning and execution of community activities and events such as exhibitions, conferences, roadshows, multidisciplinary forums, fundraising events and anniversary/commemorative day celebrations.

2. Manage, liaise and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and vendors to ensure timelines, standards and compliance.

3. Manage the deployment and briefing of volunteers for community events and outreach.

4. Work with communications and fund raising colleagues to develop marketing materials for online and offline dissemination, promoting events and generate publicity.

5. Source for quotations/tender procurement and vendor management.

6. Develop good relationships and communication channels with partners and members of the public by providing timely information and services.

7. Ensure management of confidential information with proper files and records of all activities and participants and maintain contact databases.

8. Participate in committees or work groups when required.

9. Attend and support internal and external meetings, including minutes taking when required.

10. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor and/or Executive Director from time to time.

Requirements

1. Minimally a Degree Holder in Business Administration or a related field will be an advantage

2. Desire to serve the hospice and palliative care community

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong negotiation skills and ability to maintain strong partner relationships will be an advantage

4. Resourceful and able to work with internal and external stakeholders to bring about a sense of community towards achieving common goals

5. Strong organisational and event management skills with an eye for details including logistical support for events and operations

6. Resilient and a good team player

7. Familiar with Microsoft Office suite, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Mentimeter
