Community relations are responsible for managing all community development initiatives throughout Vanguard. This role plans, develop and implement programs to promote community awareness.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist Community Engagement Executive (CEE) in conceptualizing communications strategies during CEE meetings and contribute ideas for internal Vanguard events
Lead or support to build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, grassroots, schools and volunteers as well as local community leaders
Assist CEE in drafting written materials such as contributed articles and write-ups, CEO speeches, marketing materials and reports.
Work with departments to develop communications / marketing collaterals when needed
Work closely with the Senior / Centre Manager to develop / strategize engagement programs for residents/clients and promote awareness of Vanguard and its mission.
Assist CEE in developing a comprehensive outreach plan and publicity strategy for Vanguard
Participate in the research, writing, and presentation of proposals and reports where required
Lead and organize internal and or external events for Vanguard
To track and report effectiveness of our outreach programmes and engagement activities
Volunteer Management:
Work with various departments in Vanguard to manage / execute the volunteers’ framework for Vanguard
Oversight and keeping track of Vanguard’s list of volunteers
To conduct briefings to volunteers at commencement of activities
Develop a feedback mechanism for the Volunteers who have served in Vanguard
Attend meetings relating to volunteer activities e.g. Volunteer Committee, Public Education, NCSS meetings relating to volunteers’ activities
Plan regular Support Group meetings and Volunteer Get-Togethers, Volunteers’ Appreciation functions in conjunction with various departments in Vanguard which use volunteers
Develop relationships with the volunteers/ or their organisations so that a sustainable pipeline of volunteers is created.
Collaborate with other social service agencies to leverage volunteers pool
Manage regular reporting and tracking, and report metrics
Donation management – Tracking and responding to donations received for the Home.
Job Requirements:
A diploma in Mass Communications, or Journalism is preferred
Have served a stint in a Charity or non-profit organisation, prior experience within the healthcare sector is preferred
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure
Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Proficiency in our National languages will be preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data presentation
Savvy in design softwares and platforms such as Canva and Piktochart
Eye for details and meticulous in planning of events from start to the end
Proven capability to drive strategic PR campaigns to achieve measurable results.
Can-do positive attitude, with interest to engage the elderly
People-centric and possess sound EQ to work with various levels within the clinical and rehab setting
Customer service-focused attitude and approach and have a pleasant personality
About 2 to 3 years' experience in public relations agency, events company, corporate communications environment or journalism is preferred
