Role & Responsibilities of the Communications Manager
You will co-lead APACMed Communications, primarily in:
- Internal/External Communications Building and Planning.
- Agency Management and Social Media Experience.
- Copywriting.
- Driving the Association’s commercial needs through Strategic and Tactical Communications.
Other Responsibilities and Special projects
- Support Communications team to deliver the associations communication responsibilities when assigned (website upkeep, social media maintenance and performance, electronic direct mail campaign management).
- Drive improvement metrics for owned media platforms.
- Support members & partners communication requests where possible and only if applicable.
- Engage in ad-hoc responsibilities and/or projects as assigned to assist in the continuous growth of the association.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background:
Advanced degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Public Health, Health Policy, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or corporate affairs, ideally within Healthcare, MedTech, or Life Sciences.
- Hands-on experience designing and leading integrated communications strategies for both internal and external audiences.
- Proven ability to manage media relations, reputation, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong track record collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
- Prior experience supporting high-performing communications teams.
- Prior experience in healthcare or MedTech industry is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication; skilled at making complex topics clear and engaging.
- Strategic mindset, able to align communications plans with broader business goals.
- Established media network and confidence in managing press and sensitive issues.
- Creative storyteller with strong copywriting and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines smoothly.
- Proficient in digital communications, social media, and content creation.
- Analytical and comfortable measuring impact and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management tools, and data visualization platforms.
