Job summary

Temasek’s Public Affairs team is seeking a Sustainability Communications intern to support research, content development, and communications work across written and visual media, including videos, slides, graphics, and animations.

The role involves developing messaging for institutional sustainability initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and assisting with external engagements. Full-time from January/February 2027 for six months, based in Singapore.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and spoken English required.
  • Majors in Communications, Journalism, Sustainability, New Media, Marketing, Business, Economics or Finance preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and business communication tools.
  • Available for full-time internship Jan/Feb 2027 for 6 months while enrolled in a recognised university.

Responsibilities

  • Support communications strategy development and planning, including research and data analysis.
  • Create content and messaging for institutional sustainability initiatives, including decks and social media.
  • Prepare materials for external engagements: briefs, decks, talking points, Q&As.
  • Assist team admin, track information and update SOPs.
  • Manage tasks and progress of projects independently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging.

Introduction

Temasek’s Public Affairs team seeks to position, project, and protect the Temasek brand and reputation. The team is made up of three pillars:

  • Brand Building and Positioning
  • Media, Transactions, and Issues Management
  • Reputation Management

We adopt an agile and multidisciplinary approach to communicate and engage with our stakeholders as well as to deepen their understanding of Temasek – what we do and why we do the things that we do. This work includes proactive media and issues management. We also directly reach out to external audiences on our social platforms, curating and developing content for more meaningful storytelling.

This internship position supports the Sustainability Communications function within Public Affairs in research, content development and communications work, primarily through written and visual media formats (videos, slides, graphics, animations, etc).

Responsibilities
  • Communications strategy development support and planning: Support research, data collation & analysis for development of integrated communications plan
  • Content creation and messaging development: Support the development of messaging and narratives by conducting research and crafting content related to institutional sustainability initiatives, for internal and external use. This includes internal and external presentation decks, internal messaging toolkit, social media content, video scripts, updates for Sustainability-related pages and content on the corporate website, amongst others.
  • Media and event engagements: Support the preparation of materials for external engagements. This includes briefing documents, presentation decks, talking points, Q&As, amongst others.
  • Team admin and support: Support the Sustainability Communications team on ongoing team administrative matters and logistics, information and data tracking, updating of SOPs.
  • Project management: To manage tasks independently and to ensure timely progress and completion of projects as assigned by team lead(s).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Public Affairs, Sustainability and Investment teams, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with overall business goals.
Requirements
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • While we prefer applicants pursuing any of these majors: Communications, Journalism, Sustainability, New Media, Marketing, Business, Economics, and Finance, we also welcome applicants from other relevant disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other essential business communication tools.
  • Able to commit full-time from January/February to July 2027 (6 months) while remaining enrolled in a recognised university.
What We Are Looking For
  • Demonstrable experience in content ideation, creation and development
  • A keen learner with a strong sense of intellectual curiosity and passion for communications. A passion for sustainability would be a plus.
  • Strong visual and written communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complicated concepts
  • Ability to manage complex content projects, timelines and accompanying sets of stakeholders (corporates, public, partners etc.). The successful candidate is an effective multi-tasker.
  • Attention to details amidst a fast-paced environment
  • An independent worker and collaborative team player who is able to contribute effectively towards shared goals
