PAYA LEBAR METHODIST CHURCH seeks a designer to manage and create materials for internal and external communications. The role involves planning and designing graphics for print and digital, managing website updates, and ensuring consistency with brand identity. Applicants need at least a diploma in relevant fields and a minimum of two years of experience in communications or marketing, with strong design software skills. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work on Sundays.
Job Scope
Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will be responsible for planning, conceptualising, design, production and management of PLMC’s website and other materials and collateral for internal and external communications.
Responsibilities
· Conceptualise and create visually appealing and user-friendly designs, graphics and layouts of communications materials such as brochures, flyers, infographics, logos, banners, presentation templates for both print and digital platforms to support the publicity and promotion of church events and various ministries
· Design user interfaces and user experience elements to drive engagement on PLMC’s website
· Manage the website’s content updates and design pages, banners, icons, illustrations, wireframes, etc
· Optimise the website’s design for different digital platforms and devices to ensure a seamless user experience
· Collaborate with teams to plan and execute multi-channel publicity for special events to drive attendance and/or engagement
· Maintain brand identity guidelines, including logos, colour palettes, typography, etc particularly for the website
· Ensure designs align with brand guidelines and reflect the brand’s tone and messaging
· Contribute to the copywriting of communications materials
Requirements
· Diploma or degree in digital media, mass communication, multimedia or related disciplines
· Minimum two years’ experience in corporate communications or marketing with hands-on website design and management
· Enjoy working on creative projects
· Meticulous in attention to detail and a good track record in multi-tasking
· Strong command of spoken and written English is essential
· Good command of Mandarin will be an advantage
· Strong computer skills: in particular, a sound knowledge of Desktop Publishing and web design tools and software such as Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress, etc
· Basic photography skills and knowledge of photographic equipment is an advantage
· Must be able to work on Sundays
