Job description

THE ROLE: Communications and Social Media Executive

The Communications and Social Media Executive plays a key role within the Marketing & Communications team, responsible for creating, managing, and delivering engaging content across Kaplan (Singapore)’s owned channels—including social media platforms, digital assets, and on-campus environments. This role supports the execution of integrated marketing efforts by overseeing content production in various formats such as print, video, and digital media, while ensuring alignment with brand identity and messaging. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the successful coverage of key corporate events, including graduation ceremonies and other milestone activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A brand advocate for Kaplan in Singapore to consistently communicate its value proposition across all owned, earned and paid media channels.
  • Creative use of owned and earned channels to maximise organisation’s propositions and positive exposure.
  • A brand guardian that supports senior team members in overseeing the accurate and consistent application of the brand identity and tone across all communication channels.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders relating to communication needs with alignment to the Kaplan brand and tone.
  • Identify leads for stories and implement them to tell the Kaplan brand story including those useful for marketing communications that will benefit the organisation and strengthen its brand positioning.
  • Develop engaging and timely content for the Kaplan brand for all owned media (e.g. social media, website, campus environments) and earned media (e.g. TV, press) through written posts, write-ups, videos and others related, to build brand awareness and affinity, and drive interest with our audience. This includes working with external agencies to produce the content.
  • Organise and produce video interviews for stories with guest speakers, students, lecturers and others.
  • Coordinate and support awareness campaigns, corporate events and other activities, including promoting them across our communication touchpoints, including support in the organising of corporate events and graduation ceremonies.
  • Monitor and manage Kaplan social media channels to ensure timely responses to feedback.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues across all levels and across the different departments.

Qualifications:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Content Development, Digital Media, or English (with a strong interest in communications and social media).
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in developing and managing social media content, including project coordination, campaign execution, or event support.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented self-starter who can multitask effectively and thrives in a collaborative, results-driven environment.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in Chinese will be a plus as this role will support content creation for the China market.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, and Photoshop is an added advantage.
