Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Commodity Manager – Metals to act as the company's subject matter expert for metal commodities, market intelligence, sourcing strategy, and commodity risk management. This is an individual contributor role within a manufacturing environment.

The role requires leading market analysis, developing price forecasts, and creating commodity strategies to optimize cost, manage risk, and ensure supply continuity. Strong negotiations and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing metal commodities such as Copper, Aluminum, Tin, Steel, or Nickel.
  • Experience in semiconductor, automotive, electronics, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets, index-based pricing models, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Ability to confidently discuss commodity risk, hedging strategies, and market trends.
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor global metal markets, including Copper, Aluminum, Tin, and other key commodities.
  • Analyze market trends, commodity indices, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical developments.
  • Develop price forecasts and provide market intelligence to procurement and business stakeholders.
  • Create and execute commodity strategies to optimize cost, manage risk, and ensure supply continuity.
  • Drive cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships and support key supplier initiatives.
  • Develop procurement tools, playbooks, and best practices.
  • Enhance procurement team capabilities through training and knowledge sharing on commodity markets and risk management.

They are looking for a Commodity Manager – Metals to act as the company's subject matter expert for metal commodities, market intelligence, sourcing strategy, and commodity risk management. This is an individual contributor position.

Key Responsibilities
