THE RESOLUTE HUNTER PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the daily accounting operations within a commodities trading environment.

The role requires hands-on handling of full set of accounts and intercompany reconciliations, with GST compliance and tax matters support. The ideal candidate holds a degree in accounting or ACCA and has at least 3 years of experience, preferably in oil and gas trading or bunker-related transactions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy/Accounting/Commerce or ACCA or any other relevant education
• Minimum 3 years full set of accounts experience from Commodities Trading firm (Oil & gas trading exposure preferred)

Responsibilities

• Hands-on management of daily accounting operations
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), including review of supporting documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure alignment with accounting records
• Maintain full set of accounts (GL, AP, AR, Bank, Fixed Assets)
• Prepare financial statements and management reports, including variance analysis
• Ensure month-end closing and financial reporting are completed accurately and within reporting timelines
• Prepare and submit GST filings in compliance with Singapore regulations
• Assist in corporate income tax matters and year-end audit

THE COMPANY

This commodities trading firm is advancing steadily within the commodities market. With their established network and strong growth plans, they seek for a brand new headcount, Accountant for their Accounting team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hands‑on management of daily accounting operations
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), including review of supporting documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure alignment with accounting records
• Perform any other ad‑hoc accounting and finance duties as assigned
• Maintain full set of accounts (GL, AP, AR, Bank, Fixed Assets)
• Prepare financial statements and management reports, including variance analysis
• Ensure month‑end closing and financial reporting are completed accurately and within reporting timelines
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and follow up on differences
• Work closely with internal departments (e.g. Trading and Operations) and bunker suppliers and customers to reconcile transaction data
• Investigate discrepancies in invoices, inventory, and accounting records, and follow up with relevant parties to resolve them
• Prepare and submit GST filings in compliance with Singapore regulations
• Assist in corporate income tax matters and year‑end audit
• Ensure accounting treatments comply with relevant accounting standards
• Assist in liaising with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, and banks, and provide necessary support and documentation
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure all supporting documents are complete, organized, and audit‑ready
• Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Accountancy/Accounting/Commerce or ACCA or any other relevant education
• Minimum 3 years full set of accounts experience from Commodities Trading firm (Prior experience in Oil & gas trading or bunker industry, with exposure to trading transactions, is highly preferred)
