Northland Controls is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join a dynamic team that supports some of the world’s largest corporate clients. The mission of the Commissioning Engineer is to ensure all system installations are carried out on schedule, and to both the clients and Northlands Standards. The Commissioning Engineer facilitates successful delivery through the testing, inspection and commissioning process while maintaining and improving standards where possible.

Responsibilities
Work within the project delivery teams to engineer physical layout and system security designs or mark-ups.
Review of system design prior to installation works and highlighting of any apparent technical, functional or compatibility issues with the design package while highlighting any deviation to client’s standards.
Assist the project manager with onsite trades both external and internal ensuring that all security dependencies are aligned and completed on time to enable the project to be delivered successfully as planned for the clients FDOB (First Day of Business).
Manage and execute onsite changes to the physical installation to meet Client and Northland standards as indicated within the agreed design package.
Communicate on and offsite effectively the local service providers, clients, client project teams, and the Northland Project team.
Problem solve by clearly discussing problems, clarify situations, and, to identify and explain possible solutions.
Discuss with LSP (Local Service Partner) project details, requirements, identified problems, clarify updates, identify, and explain clear solutions.
In-depth testing and troubleshooting of access control and IP network video systems.
Basic population of programming sheets at the discretion of the assigned application engineer.
Completes Project Testing Commission sheets, site plans, mark-up drawings, plangrid, and coordinates with the assigned application engineers in the commissioning process.
Follow assigned projects to final adjustments, test, troubleshoot and rectify as part of the commissioning and signoff process.
Ensure on-site clients are trained in the use of the installed system.
Supervise and manage members of the installation team for both internal technicians and local service partners engineering teams while working on site.
Verify the installation quality meets as a minimum the standards as defined within the security design package and in line with Northland best practice guidelines for security installation standards.
Communicate progress on jobs and provide regular status reports to the Project Manager to enable efficient resource planning.
Work on project pre-builds when required or inspect and verify the quality of builds completed by others are to client and Northland standards prior to being dispatched to sites.
Partner with colleagues to improve and maintain standards across the company.
Attend site meetings as required, representing the company in an effective and professional manner.
Ensure prompt completion of personal timesheets, expenses, project tracker reports and any associated paperwork on a weekly basis.
Work and maintain compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety standards and requirements, with the safety of self and others in mind at all time.
Maintain confidentiality and be sensitive to client’s security requirements.

Demonstrable knowledge of IP technology.
Basic understanding of networking (e.g. Cisco, TCP/IP, routing, switching)
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years’ industry experience working within security installations, servicing or design.
Relevant systems experience such as Lenel or CCure.
