Description

This is a senior editorial role at the heart of a modern, premium media brand known for its taste, integrity and editorial rigour. As Commissioning Editor, you’ll help maintain Design Anthology’s distinct voice across our print and digital platforms, in a fast-paced but thoughtful environment that values precision and attention to detail. Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, you’ll manage the subediting process and uphold our high editorial standards. We're looking for an experienced editor with a clear understanding of journalistic norms and a sharp editorial eye. This role comes with a potential pathway to Managing Editor, offering the opportunity to play a key part in the continued evolution of a growing global media brand.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the editorial process including commissioning of writers, deadlines and budgets, across print, digital and other platforms

  • Shaping stories with writers ensuring they fit the Design Anthology tone, style and adhere to our editorial standards

  • Working with the chief sub-editor and managing the editing process and workflow for print, website, email, social media or brand copy, including copy edits and fact checks

  • Writing and sub-editing commercial copy for print, website, email, social media, including copy edits and fact checks

  • Ad-hoc story and other writing for Design Anthology platforms

  • Working with the commercial team and the editor-in-chief to manage the ideation, creative direction and editorial process of Design Anthology partnerships and advertorials, including commissioning of writers, photographers, illustrators, deadlines, workflow and budgets

  • Shaping commercial stories, advertorials and partnerships with writers ensuring they fit the Design Anthology tone, style and adhere to our editorial standards

  • Ensuring all final output meets Design Anthology’s strict style, quality, trust and integrity standards

  • Proofing and checking layouts for print

  • Research and sourcing of new contributors

  • Researching and pitching story ideas to the Editor-in-Chief
