The Role:
The Solution Architect will serve as a trusted technical and analytical advisor to prospects and clients, as they showcase the value of Vortexa data and opportunities, particularly through the Python SDK/API.
This highly-collaborative and cross-functional role involves working directly with external clients and internal teams to understand and scope users’ goals and challenges in using Vortexa data and delivery mechanisms, and tailoring support and solutions to individual needs.
The Solution Architect will also act as a thought leader internally and externally to highlight the use cases of Vortexa’s Python SDK/API.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, deep technical knowledge, a customer-centric approach along with an affiliation to the application of data in the energy and maritime sectors and focused as well as driving product improvements based on client feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement and Support:
- Provide pre-sales support, collaborating with sales, product specialists and/or the product team to scope and understand requirements when identifying solutions to match, confirm and document their needs
- Provide post-sales support for clients, collaborating closely with sales, customer success managers and/or product team to proactively understand how solutions and API usage can be employed for all new opportunities and and to support further integrations by Vortexa clients
- Take initiative to lead and generate content for Solution Architect roadshows
- Present Vortexa’s SDK/API data offering to prospects in a clear and compelling manner
- Create and implement bespoke technical solutions for trial users and clients, particularly those requiring specialised market intelligence expertise, using Vortexa’s external interfaces
- Provide technical guidance on the integration of Vortexa's data into databases, client applications, and business intelligence platforms
- Act as a conduit between clients, analysts and the Product team, actively gathering and analysing client feedback and identifying opportunities to enhance the product based on this feedback
Technical and Product Development Expertise:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of Vortexa's data delivery methods (UI, SDK/API, Excel Add-in, Snowflake), including their capabilities, limitations and competitive advantages
- Collaborate with the R&D team to investigate SDK/API related queries, test new features, and suggest enhancements. Conduct formal reviews around functionality.
- Contribute towards Vortexa’s Solutions GitHub repository, ensuring that Python files and Jupyter notebooks are organized, updated, and easily retrievable
- Mentor other colleagues on client solutions or solutions for internal use
- Work with the R&D team to continually improve the SDK/API documentation, facilitating clients in adopting and integrating Vortexa’s data into their workflows.
- Produce, curate, and promote content, such as blog posts, whitepapers, webinars, and tutorials, that showcases the capabilities and advantages of Vortexa’s SDK/API. This content is designed to educate both current and prospective clients on the power and functionality of Vortexa’s offerings
- Ownership of case study and examples in customer-facing repositories
- Work in a collaborative manner with the solutions architect team using methods such as pair programming to formulate rapid and efficient data scripts
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in STEM subjects or Economics/Finance
- High level of proficiency in coding essential - Python, R and SQL preferred
- Experience interacting with and integrating API’s/Databases
- Desirable:
- Background in statistical or financial modelling,
- Commodities market analysis experience, particularly those with an energy (Oil &Gas, LNG) or freight focus
