The Commercial Manager is responsible for:
- Pursuing sales opportunities to sell geotechnical instrumentation, monitoring, site investigation, and related testing services to clients across the construction industry.
- Managing contracts and claims for secured projects.
- Reporting directly to the Asia Sales Director and functionally to the General Manager.
- Driving growth with high-touch accounts and prospecting for new clients.
- Leading and coordinating with Business Development, Quantity Surveyors, Contract Lead, Operational, and Leadership teams to maximize team effectiveness.
This role is based in Kaki Bukit, Singapore. Core responsibilities include:
- Exceeding sales and revenue targets.
- Managing contracts and claims.
- Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with key customers.
- Driving profitable sales expansion, including acquiring new and engaging dormant accounts, and growing existing clients.
- Leading, coaching, and mentoring team members.
- Representing the company to the public, customers, vendors, and employees.
- Participating in industry association meetings to promote the company and its services.
- Collaborating with peers within Company Asia subsidiaries to maximize sales for key customers.
- Participating in pipeline reviews, maintaining CRM records, and identifying critical success factors for key opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and applicable laws related to safety, environment, and governance.
Qualifications and experience required include:
- 10-15 years of client-facing experience in sales and contracts.
- Degree qualification in a related industry is preferred but not essential.
- Experience working with Tier 1 construction contractors or consultants is preferred.
- Knowledge of geotechnical engineering or site investigation is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Dynamics 365, CRM, Power BI, etc.).
- Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at various events and projects.
- Strategic thinking skills for managing deadlines and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster open communication and mutual respect.
- Ability to interface with clients, win new work, and manage contracts effectively.
