Job Duties

  • Manage the proper coordination of all contracts, subcontracts and other contract/ legal documents with Legal.
  • Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
  • Negotiate proposals, contract modifications, and agreements as required within the limits of authority delegated and as directed by Legal.
  • Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness, interpretation to support implementation.
  • Liaise with SJ Legal to coordinate contractual insurance requirements.
  • Work with Project Leaders to develop project delivery models for each project including development of project objectives and targets, outsourcing strategy and local resourcing requirements.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients on contractual matters ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations.
  • Advise Project Directors of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretations of terms and conditions in close coordination with Legal.
  • Monitor performance and payments on contracts. Notifies Operations Director of potential non-compliance and other problems that could have an adverse impact to the business unit.
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation of all contract correspondence, client contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects.
  • Handle on-going issues and change management in conjunction with Project Leaders.
  • Assist Project Leaders in monitoring project budgets to achieve margins where needed.
  • Assist Project Leaders in managing and administering contracts with clients, sub-contractors and service providers.
  • Assist in regular project reviews including:
    • Review of Project Implementation Plan
    • Contract status
    • Financial and technical status
    • Program status
    • Client relations
    • Evaluation of project risks and opportunities
  • Identification of problems and development of mitigation strategies
  • Assist, in conjunction with the Financial Controller, Project Directors with agreed cashflows and generation of invoicing for all jobs.
  • Assist Project Director in debt collection where required. Facilitate and chair regular debt collection meetings.
  • Implement and adhere to group policy regarding debt collection and cash flow management

Key Requirements

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Degree holder in Business Administration and/or Architecture preferred (MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus).
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is prferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commercial management of construction projects.
  • Strong analytical mind with great commercial acumen.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and client management
  • Excellent communication skill in both English and other local languages (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skill.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience working with large ERP systems (preferred SAP) and BI tools.
  • Resilient, proactive and self-motivated.
  • Able to work collaboratively with people from different levels, functions and cultural background.
