A leading company in Southeast Asia seeks an experienced Commercial Director to drive sales growth and profitability in the ceramics, carbon materials, and thermal products sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background, proven success in P&L management, and the ability to expand the company's presence across the SEAJA region. This role entails developing comprehensive business strategies and overseeing a high-performance sales team to seize new market opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to lead and grow sales revenue and profitability across our Southeast Asia, Japan, and Australia (SEAJA) business unit. This leadership role calls for a strategic professional with a proven background in the ceramics, carbon materials, or thermal products sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement business strategies to achieve strong sales growth and profitability across the SEAJA region.
Oversee the full Profit & Loss (P&L) for a business unit generating over £30 million annually, ensuring sound financial management and strategic decision-making.
Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence within the ceramics, carbon materials, and thermal products industries.
Lead sales initiatives by optimizing sales channels, setting performance targets, and building a high-performance sales team.
Build lasting relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders throughout the region.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to develop pricing strategies and maintain market leadership.
Work closely with global leadership and cross-functional teams—including operations, R&D, and finance—to align commercial activities with broader business goals.
Recruit, lead, and develop a strong commercial team across multiple countries.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory and company compliance standards.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering, or Master’s degree / MBA preferred.
Proven experience managing a P&L with revenue exceeding £30 million.
Strong commercial leadership background in ceramics, carbon materials, or thermal products.
Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and profitability in multi-market environments, ideally within SEAJA.
Excellent strategic planning, business development, and negotiation skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Analytical and data-driven decision-maker.
Willing to travel extensively across the SEAJA region.
