Job description

Role: Conversational AI Developer (Cognigy)

Seeking a skilled and passionate Cognigy Agent Developer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, testing, and deploying advanced conversational AI agents (chatbots and voicebots) that leverage the full capabilities of the Cognigy.AI platform. You will work closely with business stakeholders, conversation designers, and other technical teams to translate requirements into highly effective and engaging AI-powered interactions.

Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

  • Design, develop, and optimize conversational AI agents (chatbots and voicebots) using the Cognigy.AI platform.
  • Implement complex conversational flows, intents, entities, and responses within Cognigy.AI.
  • Utilize Cognigy's low-code/no-code interface, as well as custom code (CognigyScript, JavaScript, Python) when necessary, to extend functionality and integrate with external systems.
  • Leverage Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) technologies to improve virtual agent comprehension and performance.
  • Integrate Cognigy agents with various channels (webchat, voice, SMS, messaging apps) and backend systems (CRMs, databases, APIs).
  • Develop and implement "Tool Actions" to enable AI agents to perform complex tasks, interact with external services, and execute rules-based actions.

Optimization and Training:

  • Train and fine-tune dialog systems using historical conversation data and large datasets to enhance accuracy and relevance.
  • Research and apply machine learning frameworks and technologies to develop working prototypes and improve agent intelligence.
  • Implement sentiment analysis, entity extraction, and other AI-driven capabilities to create more human-like interactions.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of conversational flows and agent behaviour using tools like Cognigy Playbooks and Live Follow.

Collaboration and Best Practices:

  • Collaborate with conversation designers, UX/UI specialists, product managers, and other developers to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience.
  • Adhere to best practices for conversational design, AI agent development, and data privacy/security.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Deployment and Maintenance:

  • Manage the deployment of AI agents across different environments (development, staging, production).
  • Monitor agent performance, analyze conversation insights, and identify areas for ongoing optimization.
  • Participate in architectural and security discussions related to Cognigy deployments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with Cognigy.AI:

  • Proven hands-on experience in building and deploying conversational AI solutions using Cognigy.AI.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cognigy's AI Agent Studio, Flow Editor, Nodes (e.g., AI Agent Node, Tool Action Node, Resolve Tool Action Node), Endpoints, and Snapshots.
  • Familiarity with CognigyScript for advanced customization and logic.

Conversational AI Fundamentals:

  • Strong understanding of conversational AI principles, including NLP, NLU, intent recognition, entity extraction, and dialogue management.
  • Experience in designing effective conversational flows and user experiences for chatbots and voicebots.

Programming & Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in at least one common programming language such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with REST APIs and web services for integrating with external systems.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis (e.g., SQL, Pandas).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
