Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision metal components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and work orders.
  • Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters.
  • Perform machine offsets and minor program edits (Fanuc, Siemens, or similar controls).
  • Conduct in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  • Ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and perform basic maintenance on machines.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and adhere to workplace safety and 5S practices.
  • Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to resolve production issues.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience operating CNC turning machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiar with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Knowledge of CNC control systems (Fanuc preferred).
  • Good team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts or overtime, if required.
