Job summary

PLUS PRECISION ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to create and edit milling programs for precision components.

You will program 3-axis and 4-axis machines, develop efficient strategies based on part geometry, materials, tolerances, and production needs. You will generate CAM toolpaths where applicable, perform prove-out, adjust programs during machining, optimize feeds and speeds, minimize cycle time while preserving dimensional accuracy and surface finish,

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC milling programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling machining processes.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

CNC Programming

• Create and edit CNC milling programs for precision engineering components.


• Program 3-axis and/or 4-axis CNC milling machines.


• Develop efficient machining strategies based on part geometry, material, tolerance and production requirements.


• Generate and verify CAM toolpaths where applicable.


• Perform program prove-out and make necessary program adjustments during machining.


• Optimize cutting conditions, toolpaths, feeds and speeds to improve productivity and tool life.


• Minimize machining time while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

Manufacturing & Process Planning

• Study engineering drawings, 3D models and customer specifications.


• Determine machining sequence, workholding method, datum references and tooling requirements.


• Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, holders and workholding equipment.


• Prepare setup sheets, tool lists and machining instructions.


• Identify potential machining issues before production.


• Work closely with machinists and production personnel to ensure smooth job execution.


• Support development of repeatable and standardized machining processes.

Quality & Inspection

• Ensure machined components meet drawing specifications and customer requirements.


• Understand and work to tight dimensional and geometric tolerances.


• Support first-off inspection and dimensional verification.


• Troubleshoot dimensional, surface-finish and machining problems.


• Work with the QC team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Production Support

• Provide technical support to CNC machinists during setup and production.


• Troubleshoot machining problems such as chatter, tool breakage, burrs, dimensional variation and poor surface finish.


• Improve existing programs and processes for recurring jobs.


• Assist with estimating machining time and tooling requirements for new jobs when required.


• Maintain proper documentation and revision control of CNC programs.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of relevant CNC milling programming experience.


• Strong knowledge of CNC milling machining processes.


• Able to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T.
