Job description

To work as a precision engineer, you will operate special-purpose equipment and machines to manufacture components and parts. This role requires reading technical manuals and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts. You should also be able to program CAD/CAM for machining programs and set up requirements. A key aspect involves detecting faults and making adjustments to ensure smooth machine operation, as well as selecting, aligning, and securing holders, fixtures, tooling, automation, accessories, and materials. Continual improvement and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities
  1. Carry out CNC precision machining and general machining.
  2. Read and write effective CAD/CAM programs.
  3. Perform machine maintenance.
  4. Conduct WIP dimensional measurements.
  5. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  6. Apply approved manufacturing methods.
  7. Perform CNC CMM dimensional inspections for 2D/3D measurements.
  8. Program CAD/CAM and electrodes.
  9. Implement automation tools to enhance productivity.
  10. Troubleshoot machine issues.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  12. Adhere to workplace safety and health policies.
  13. Maintain machine air-pressure systems.
  14. Operate and have knowledge of network servers and IoT for shop floor control.
  15. Perform ad hoc duties as instructed by supervisor.
  16. Work a 5.5-day workweek.
Requirements
  1. Diploma or equivalent in precision engineering or Higher Nitec.
  2. Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
  3. Proficient in 2D/3D dimensional inspection and geometric measurements.
  4. Resourceful and adaptable to changing work requirements.
  5. Problem solver, organized team player with good communication skills.
  6. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (AUTOCAD is an advantage).
