Job Description & Requirements
The Cloud Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring service availability, performance, and a good security posture of the systems running in the Cloud environment. This role involves provisioning core infrastructure services for large systems. The operational tasks must be completed in a timely, cooperative, and professional manner in coordination with other infrastructure engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Managing systems in cloud environments according to project requirements and support roles.
- Managing full system stacks from the OS to custom applications and system security using cloud-based computing environments.
- Monitoring and analyzing system performance data, syslog, sysreport, and tuning operating systems (Linux and/or Windows) in Cloud environments.
- Identifying potential bottlenecks in application performance, troubleshooting, and resolving OS and application-related incidents according to customer processes.
- Managing system patching and security hardening implementations.
- Performing any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-year renewable contract.
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and/or Redhat Enterprise system implementation and support.
- Certification as an AWS or equivalent Cloud Computing Engineer is preferred. Certification in Linux System is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of AWS architecture, network infrastructure, Active Directory, Linux Servers; hands-on experience with OS patching and hardening.
- Priority will be given to candidates with working knowledge and exposure to Identity and Access Management Systems.
- Automation and scripting experience with Linux scripting is an advantage.
- Ability to take initiative, uphold responsibilities, and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
