Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant cloud engineering experience.

Job Description

Primary Purpose

The Software Engineer is responsible to develop software based on design requirements and ensure software and subroutines are working to specification, program codes have conformed to standards and are delivered with quality meeting schedule and requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and administer cloud infrastructure using technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and client insights.
• Execute daily cloud operations and support cloud implementations in technical client engagements.
• Administer and support Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL,and IBM DB2 databases.
• Manage AWS RDS Oracle, RDS/Aurora MySQL, and RDSPostgreSQL environments.
• Manage DB2 and MySQL databases hosted on AWS EC2.
• Perform database installation, configuration,upgrades, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor database availability, performance,capacity, and resource utilization.
• Perform database backup, recovery, restoretesting, and disaster recovery activities.
• Manage database users, roles, privileges,authentication, and security controls.
• Perform database performance and SQL tuning.
• Support production deployments, maintenanceactivities, incidents, and change .
• Ensure configurations meet required standards for performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability, and reliability upon deployment.
• Align deployed configurations with approved design documentation and specifications.
• Support implementation projects and pilots in cloud environments, including basic operations and administration.
• Collaborate with Team to engage clients in operational meetings, technical discussions, process improvements, and environment optimisation activities.
• Provide solutions and technical guidance to Team and client accounts.
• Maintain technical skills, certifications, and knowledge of market trends and competitive insights in the cloud space.
• Share cloud knowledge and technical insights with the relevant technical community.
• Resolve technical issues within agreed SLAs and ensure proper resolution documentation.
• Support specific cloud implementation projects and pilots.
• Participate in cloud migration activities for VMs and databases.
• Use tools such as Cloud Endure and Azure Migrate for VM migration activities where required.
• Apply automation tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform for configuration deployment or cloud system maintenance where required.
• Support client-specific operational meetings, technical discussions, process improvements, and environment optimisation activities.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in cloud operations, cloud administration, and cloud implementation delivery.
• Hands-on experience supporting technical client engagements.
• Experience participating in implementation discussions.
• Ability to operate and administer cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to ensure cloud configurations meet performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and reusability requirements.
• Experience codifying, implementing, or deploying configurations using automation-by-default principles in new projects.
• Experience maintaining cloud systems in an automated manner using tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Experience preparing and maintaining proper technical documentation.
• Experience participating in cloud migrations for VMs using tools such as Cloud Endure or Azure Migrate.
• Experience with more than 20 VM migrations or database migrations.
• Strong understanding of cloud market trends and competitive insights.
• Ability to contribute to process improvements and optimisations for client environments.
• Good client handling skills.
• Ability to provide technical expertise and support to team members and client accounts.
• Ability to resolve issues with proper technical resolution and documentation within SLAs.
• Cloud-related certifications relevant to the role are expected to be maintained.
• Relevant AWS certifications preferred.
