Job summary

THE JAPAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE, LIMITED in Singapore seeks a senior cloud platform architect to lead the design, build, and ongoing management of a scalable Azure-based cloud platform.

You will oversee CI/CD pipelines, IaC, container orchestration (OpenShift, AKS), security, cost optimization, and compliance, collaborating with architects, application teams, vendors, and offshore partners while mentoring a high‑performing team of cloud engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on cloud platform experience, with Azure preferred.
• Expert-level CI/CD pipeline design using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• IaC experience with Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation or similar.
• Experience with container orchestration (OpenShift/A Kubernetes) and AKS.
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog or Application Insights.
• Cloud security best practices, secrets management and compliance.
• Networking: VPNs, load balancers, API gateways, DNS.
• CIAM with Ping Identity.
• People management, recruitment, mentoring, and stakeholder communication.
• TOGAF and Cloud Architecture certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and ongoing management of the cloud platform service, focusing on Azure and cloud-native offerings.
• Architect, implement, and maintain cloud platform services, driving modernization and regulatory alignment.
• Oversee DevOps and automation platform, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Manage and optimize the hybrid container platform using Red Hat OpenShift.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture blueprints, runbooks, and procedures.
• Champion cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization across services.
• Collaborate with architects, application teams, vendors, and offshore partners for alignment.
• Mentor a high-performing team of cloud architects and engineers.
• Develop and oversee CIAM strategies and secure access across cloud services.
