Job summary

Purview Asia Pacific is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications in Government on GCC and CC environments, with a strong emphasis on security controls and boundary protection.

You will modernise services, enable APIs, and drive cloud migration, collaborating with business users, analysts, solution architects, vendors, and tech teams to deliver robust solutions that meet policy and security requirements.

Qualifications

• BSc in Computer/Information Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise apps in cloud.
• Experience in front-end and back-end components, APIs, and system integrations.
• Experience building cloud-native services on AWS with microservices, event-driven patterns, SQL, REST APIs, and containers.
• Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments; capable in estimation, design, delivery, deployment, and support.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted software engineering tools to improve productivity.
• Experience designing scalable, high-availability, resilient applications.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, secure coding, performance, and reliability.
• Knowledge of architecture, databases, middleware, integration tech, and cloud-native development; Windows/Unix/Linux, hosting platforms, and security considerations.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with local public sector projects and GCC requirements is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications in Government on GCC and CC environments, ensuring robust security controls and network boundary controls are integrated.
• Modernise services through refactoring, re-platforming, API enablement, and progressive cloud migration.
• Collaborate with business users, system analysts, solution architects, vendors, and other teams to design and implement application solutions.
• Assist in POC initiatives, prototyping, and evaluation of emerging technologies and approaches.
• Develop and maintain source code repositories, ensuring compliance with coding standards, security best practices, and version control.
• Perform configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and enhancement across the product lifecycle.
• Conduct code reviews and implement secure coding practices to remediate vulnerabilities and debt.
• Automate development, testing, deployment, and operational processes to improve efficiency and security.
• Develop and maintain application components, databases, interfaces, and services per IM8 policies and cybersecurity requirements.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Provide project updates, task tracking, defect management, release planning, and procurement-related support.
• Conduct testing and deployment verification activities; troubleshoot complex issues and document resolutions.
• Review apps and recommend improvements to functionality, performance, maintainability, security, and user experience.
