Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd is seeking Full Stack Engineers to modernise a Singapore public sector digital service. You will migrate legacy systems to a cloud-native, containerised platform on AWS, building frontends with ReactJS/TypeScript/Next.js and backends in Golang/Kotlin, plus secure infrastructure management.

You will configure AWS resources with IaC, implement security controls, and drive CI/CD pipelines and observability.

Qualifications

• Experience migrating or modernising legacy systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience delivering Singapore Government or public sector projects is an advantage.
• Fronted: ReactJS, TypeScript
• Backend: Golang and/or Kotlin
• DevOps: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
• Cloud: AWS architecture and services
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
• Observability: hands-on experience with at least one observability tool
• Experience with Next.js
• Experience in setting up AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experience with a workflow engine (e.g. Temporal)
• Experience with a rules engine (e.g. Gorules, Open Policy Agent)
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog
• Implemented authentication using OIDC, SAML
• Implemented authorisation using RBAC, ABAC
• Government identity and security tooling: Singpass, Corppass, ADFS, WOG AD, CAM, Trend Micro FAM
• Infrastructure and container security practices
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in production environments.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Senior Consultant: leadership, stakeholder management, and decision driving

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy applications to a modern cloud-native, containerised stack.
• Build responsive web frontends with ReactJS, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Develop backend services in Golang and/or Kotlin with long-running workflows (Temporal).
• Set up secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform and IaC.
• Implement authentication/authorization with Singpass, OIDC, SAML, RBAC/ABAC.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab; deploy to Kubernetes (EKS).
• Instrument apps with Dynatrace or Datadog for observability.
• Support production deployments, troubleshoot issues, and participate in incident resolution.
• Define architecture and target state for the modernised platform; lead multiple workstreams.
• Mentor engineers, set standards, and plan legacy-to-modern migration sequencing.
