Job description

We are seeking an experienced individual to join us as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (System Administration and ServiceNow). This position is offered as a contract employment.

You will be part of the Service Management and Insights Platform (SMIP) Team, supporting Agile solution delivery and managing key services on the whole-of-government (WOG) platform. The role primarily involves administration and management of the ServiceNow platform, along with maintaining and optimizing other cloud infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ServiceNow platform administration, cloud infrastructure management, and a passion for system reliability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the health and performance of the ServiceNow platform, including upgrades, patches, and maintenance.
  2. Configure and maintain ServiceNow modules (e.g., ITSM, CSM) to meet business needs.
  3. Ensure compliance with governance standards and best practices for ServiceNow.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues and incidents.
  5. Maintain optimal platform operation regarding availability, capacity, security, and business continuity.
  6. Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure components (AWS, Azure) for high availability and performance.
  7. Assist in designing and deploying secure, scalable cloud solutions.
  8. Implement cloud automation, orchestration, and monitoring tools.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
  10. Document procedures, configurations, and best practices.
  11. Identify opportunities for platform optimization and automation.
  12. Recommend and implement system reliability and efficiency enhancements.
  13. Provide technical guidance to align infrastructure with business goals.
  14. Collaborate with development teams on customizations, CI/CD pipelines, and integrations.
  15. Ensure project implementation aligns with government standards and policies.
  16. Work with operations, application development, and business stakeholders.
  17. Perform other IT-related tasks as needed to support business operations.

Requirements:

  1. At least 3 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow platform administration.
  2. Proficient in System Administration (RHEL & Windows), Networks, and Cloud Solutions (AWS, Azure).
  3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-technical audiences and senior management.
  4. Additional advantageous skills include:
  • Network, System, or Application Administration & Troubleshooting
  • Python and Bash scripting
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist
  • Experience with On-Premise ServiceNow deployments
  • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure)
  • DevOps infrastructure
