Job summary

Adecco is partnering with the public sector to fill a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Public Sector, AWS) role. The incumbent will design, manage and optimize cloud infrastructure architecture to ensure scalability, reliability and performance across platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on AWS expertise, DevOps, observability, automation, governance and disaster recovery planning, with leadership across projects and coordination with internal teams and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure management.
• AWS hands-on experience is essential.
• AWS certifications preferred; Azure certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud, DevOps, Observability, Automation, Resilience, and Disaster Recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure and architecture for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement and maintain observability covering logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
• Ensure governance, security, and operational processes across infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Application Services teams to support business applications with fault tolerance and high availability.
• Lead infrastructure projects with internal stakeholders and external vendors, managing timelines and budgets.
• Drive resiliency engineering and business continuity through defined RTO, RPO, and SAO objectives.
• Conduct regular failover and disaster recovery testing to validate resilience.

Job Description

• Design, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure and architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Apply strong technical expertise across Infrastructure Management, Cloud Computing, DevOps, Observability, and Automation.
• Implement and maintain observability capabilities covering logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Ensure infrastructure operations comply with governance, operational, and security processes.
• Work closely with Application Services teams to provide infrastructure that supports business applications and incorporates fault tolerance, redundancy, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Lead infrastructure projects from planning through delivery, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors while managing timelines, budgets, quality, and technical outcomes.
• Drive resiliency engineering and business continuity initiatives, including defining and maintaining:
  • RTO (Recovery Time Objective)
  • RPO (Recovery Point Objective)
  • SAO (Service Availability Objective)
• Conduct regular failover and disaster recovery testing to validate infrastructure resilience and availability.
• Manage third‑party vendors, monitor their performance against KPIs and SLAs, ensure contractual compliance, and maintain effective vendor relationships.
