Job summary

Akkodis Singapore PTE. LTD. is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to design, architect and deliver scalable AWS cloud and enterprise Linux/UNIX infrastructure solutions in Singapore.

The role emphasizes automation, resilience, security and infrastructure transformation. You will lead architecture for AWS components such as EC2, AMIs, autoscaling, and drive Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Puppet, Packer, Jenkins and Git/GitLab, collaborating with security, network and development

Qualifications

• Minimum 15–20 years of experience designing cloud architecture and enterprise Linux/UNIX environments.
• Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and Linux-based solutions.
• Hands-on architecture experience with Red Hat Linux and enterprise UNIX platforms.
• Experience with Terraform, Puppet, Packer, Jenkins for automation.
• Proven ability to lead PoCs and translate requirements into scalable infra solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions across AWS and Linux/UNIX environments.
• Define cloud infrastructure architecture, standards, and implementation approaches aligned with security and availability needs.
• Oversee deployment of AWS-based infrastructure including EC2, AMIs, autoscaling, and related components.
• Develop automation using Terraform, Puppet, Packer, Jenkins, and Git/GitLab.
• Lead PoCs and technical demonstrations for cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Plan migration approaches for physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Design for high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and resilience.
• Provide direction for Red Hat Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX platforms.
• Review designs and drive improvements in performance, reliability, cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable infra solutions.

Cloud Infrastructure Architect

Responsible for designing, architecting and delivering scalable AWS cloud and enterprise Linux/UNIX infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus on automation, resilience, security and infrastructure transformation.

Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience in designing cloud architecture, cloud engineering, infrastructure architecture and enterprise Linux/UNIX environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions , primarily across AWS and Linux/UNIX environments .
• Define cloud infrastructure architecture, technical standards and implementation approaches aligned with business, security, availability and operational requirements.
• Architect and oversee deployment of AWS-based infrastructure , including EC2, AMIs, autoscaling and supporting platform components.
• Design and implement infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Puppet, Packer, Jenkins and Git/GitLab .
• Lead the specification, setup and execution of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and technical demonstrations for cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Develop architecture and migration approaches for physical, virtual and cloud environments , including server modernisation and cloud adoption.
• Design solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, security and operational resilience across enterprise environments.
• Provide architectural direction for Red Hat Linux, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX infrastructure platforms.
• Design and optimise Solaris environments using technologies including ZFS and Solaris Zones .
• Define automated and repeatable processes for server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Review existing infrastructure designs, identify technical gaps and recommend improvements to enhance performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency .
• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure engineering teams and guide implementation teams on architecture and design decisions.
• Collaborate with application, security, network, cloud, vendor and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Support enterprise Production, Disaster Recovery, Testing and Development environments and ensure solutions meet operational and resilience requirements.
• Contribute to infrastructure security, compliance, audit and system-hardening initiatives.

Mandatory Technical Experience

• Strong experience designing AWS cloud infrastructure and Linux-based solutions .
• Hands-on architecture experience with RedHat Linux and enterprise UNIX platforms .
• Strong experience with Puppet, Packer and Jenkins for infrastructure automation.
• Experience designing automated infrastructure using Terraform and Git/GitLab .
• Strong Bash / Shell scripting experience.
• Architecture and implementation experience with Solaris, ZFS and Solaris Zones .
• Experience designing Production, DR, Test and Development infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of server virtualisation, provisioning, patching, capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management .
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery and enterprise infrastructure resilience .

Relevant Industry Experience

Candidates with architecture experience across Defence/Government, Banking & Financial Services, Utilities/Energy, Telecommunications, Retail and other large enterprise environments are preferred, particularly experience involving mission-critical, regulated or highly available infrastructure .
