We are seeking an experienced Cloud DBA with strong AWS expertise and a solid understanding of ITIL practices to manage and optimize our cloud-based database systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS RDS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and be capable of ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance through structured processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administer and maintain AWS RDS databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
2. Apply ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem management practices in daily operations.
3. Ensure database performance, availability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and tuning.
4. Design and implement automated solutions for provisioning, backup, recovery, and scaling using AWS-native tools and scripting.
5. Provide L2 operational support, including root cause analysis and issue resolution aligned with ITIL service operations.
6. Implement security controls, data protection, and compliance in line with cloud and ITIL governance frameworks.
7. Support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, including high availability and replication.
8. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation, ensuring timely response to incidents as per SLAs.
9. Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to support change releases and service transitions.

Experience in WOG/GCC and GCC+ environments is preferred.

Required Experience:

1. 7+ years in database administration, with at least 3+ years in AWS and AWS RDS environments.
2. 3–5 years of SQL database administration experience.
3. Extensive hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL technologies.
4. Proven experience in AWS database services such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and associated ecosystem.
5. Strong understanding of ITIL service management framework, particularly incident, change, and problem management.

Technical Skills:

1. Proficient in AWS automation tools: CloudFormation, Lambda, and scripting (Python, Bash).
2. Experience using AWS monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Performance Insights, AWS Trusted Advisor.
3. Strong in database backup/recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions.
4. Familiarity with ITIL-aligned service desk tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) is a plus.
5. Exposure to WOG/GCC and GCC+ environments is a strong advantage.

Certifications:

1. AWS Certified Database – Specialty
2. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
3. ITIL Foundation Certification
