About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud and infrastructure solutions for a mission-critical Singapore government defense project . The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with AWS cloud services, infrastructure automation, and designing compliant, highly available systems in regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Architect secure cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions using AWS services tailored for government and defense workloads.
  • Lead the development of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Define and implement network architecture , security zones, segmentation, and zero trust models for secure data flow.
  • Develop and document high- and low-level design documents aligned with government security and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with security teams to ensure compliance with CSA, IM8, and defense-grade cybersecurity standards .
  • Oversee cloud migration strategies, lift-and-shift or re-architecture efforts for legacy systems.
  • Lead incident response planning , backup and disaster recovery, and business continuity design.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate tools and services across compute, storage, networking, and monitoring.
  • Act as a technical advisor to project stakeholders and lead architecture reviews and governance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field.
  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, with 5+ years in AWS-based cloud environments .
  • Strong understanding of AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.
  • Proven experience with cloud security design in compliance with government standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, IM8, etc.).
  • Proficiency in IaC tools : Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Experience in container orchestration (EKS, ECS, Kubernetes) and serverless architecture.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines , DevSecOps practices, and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with on-prem infrastructure , networking, and hybrid-cloud integration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with classified or restricted systems in the defense or government sectors.
  • Knowledge of GovTech frameworks and architecture standards (e.g., SG-TSI, IM8).
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams in regulated environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Information
  • Must be Singapore Citizen due to government security clearance requirements.
  • Role may require working in secure environments and compliance with handling classified information .
  • Previous experience with MinDef, DSTA, or GovTech projects is a strong plus.
