Job summary

National University Health System PTE. LTD. Associate Medical Laboratory Technologists support daily laboratory operations, including phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry, and diverse clinical tests. You will work with SOPs and ensure specimen handling, quality control and accurate results for clinicians.

Qualifications

• Recognized Diploma in Biomedical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science or other relevant fields.
• 1–3 years of experience in laboratory environment and/or relevant phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate in vernacular languages is an added advantage.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations of the laboratory
• Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory SOPs
• Perform phlebotomy, ECG and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.
• Perform Point of Care Testing and clinical laboratory tests such as urinalysis, haematology, biochemistry, and microscopy independently.
• Ensure specimen identification, processing and storage of test specimens are in accordance with good laboratory practices
• Perform and verify quality control for all analysers prior to patients sampling
• Use of Laboratory Information System (LIS) to perform functions such as result entry, result validation and tracking for outstanding tests
• Ensure all test results provided for clinicians are accurate and reliable
• Notify instrument issues and arrange service; notify inventory for stock levels
• Perform and record internal and external quality controls and calibrations
• Ensure 'critical value' are reported within 30 minutes
• Ensure daily maintenance and QC records are up to date
• Ensure compliance to hand hygiene, safety, IPSG and ISO requirements
• Provide prompt service to customers; report adverse incidents to supervisor
• Observe NUHS data protection and cybersecurity guidelines
• Perform other functions as delegated by supervisor and/or lead laboratory
