Job description

As a Clinical Instructor (Community Setting / Office Hours), you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Establish and maintain optimal clinical learning environments for nursing staff and students.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate preceptorship schemes to support the clinical development of new staff.

  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) for new staff members and assist Nurse Managers in ensuring their competencies.

  • Coordinate and organize training activities to strengthen unit-based generic and specialty clinical practices.

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate unit-based and discipline-based training courses for nursing staff.

  • Ensure appropriate orientation, training, and continuing education opportunities are provided to advance and maintain the required level of competency.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of nursing standards to ensure high-quality patient care delivery.

  • Act as a resource person to Nurse Managers on clinical nursing and nursing training matters and issues.

  • Apply principles to prevent medico-legal issues related to patient care and conduct summative assessments of nursing staff and students.

  • Provide training and education for other non-nursing staff and volunteers as needed.

  • Develop and conduct hospital-based training programs in compliance with Ministry of Health (MOH) requirements and organizational needs.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing with at least 5 years of experience in clinical care.

  • Preferably hold a Specialist Diploma in clinical education.

  • Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
