Job description

Clinical Fellows in Lower Limb Arthroplasty

Applications are invited for the above posts starting in February 2026 & August 2026 for an initial period of 6 months with the potential to be extended.

The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital Orthopaedic department is one of the largest Arthroplasty units within the UK, with 25 orthopaedic Consultants, including specialists in foot and ankle surgery and hand and wrist surgery.

The department performs approximately 4000 primary and revision joint replacements and over 500 other elective orthopaedic procedures annually, including foot & ankle, soft tissue knee surgery, and hand surgeries. The Foot and Ankle Unit is a high-volume centre for elective surgery, with over 600 procedures each year, and is renowned for total ankle replacements.

Depending on the post offered, successful candidates will gain exposure to all aspects of modern hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic and computer-navigated knee replacements. Candidates will be expected to participate actively in audit and research activities.

Applicants should ideally have completed a basic Orthopaedic Registrar training program and passed the MRCS examination. FRCS Orth. qualification is desirable. Candidates without MRCS will not be considered for interview.
