Role Overview: -

We are seeking an experienced Client Engagement Manager to lead and deliver complex projects while managing client relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong delivery management skills, financial oversight capabilities, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in agile environments. The ideal candidate will balance delivery excellence with client satisfaction, driving business growth and operational success.

Key Responsibilities: -

Client Engagement & Relationship Management: -

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are managed and exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and effective escalation when needed.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing client accounts, supporting pre-sales efforts, proposals, and RFPs.
  • Ensure Service Overview Documents accurately reflect responsibilities, protect Capgemini’s interests, and align with client needs.

Project Delivery & Leadership:-

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Oversee project resources, collaborating with Practices, Staffing, Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure timely resource fulfillment.
  • Drive delivery excellence through agile and DevOps methodologies, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with client goals.
  • Manage project finances — ensuring projects adhere to financial policies, track against budgets, and deliver profitability.
  • Balance conflicting demands while keeping the team focused on outcomes and key deliverables.

Technical & Domain Expertise:-

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of technology landscapes, including Java Full Stack, Selenium, Hadoop, Finacle, or other emerging technologies.
  • Guide teams working in Agile/Scrum environments — promoting agile principles and ensuring sprint planning, delivery, and retrospectives are effective.
  • Provide insights on banking, finance, or insurance domains, leveraging this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

Key Skills & Experience:-

Must-Have:-

  • 12+ years of overall experience, with 1-3 years specifically in client engagement and project delivery.
  • Proven track record of managing 2-3 agile or DevOps projects successfully.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills — able to engage with senior clients confidently.
  • Experience with pre-sales, proposal writing, and crafting Statements of Work (SOWs) across Application Development (AD), Application Maintenance (AM), and Testing.
  • Financial acumen — able to manage project budgets, track spending, and ensure profitability.
  • Risk management mindset — able to anticipate issues, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth delivery.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have:-

  • Knowledge of Java or other modern technology stacks.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Selenium, Finacle, or other banking/finance tech solutions.
  • Background in creating management reports, tracking SLAs and KPIs, and providing detailed performance insights.
  • Experience in handling proposals and RFPs, with a commercial mindset focused on business growth.
  • Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe) or Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
