Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Head of Claims, you will provide administrative and operational support to the Marine Insurance Claims team. The role will involve data entry, document collation, file management, and general assistance in the handling of claims processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Mainly but not limited to:

  • Input marine insurance claims data into internal systems accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain proper records and filing of claims notifications and monitor status updates
  • Administer file storage and retrieval processes in line with internal procedures
  • Generate and maintain loss records and claims statistics for reporting purposes
  • Process and distribute incoming correspondence related to marine insurance claims
  • Collate supporting documents and information received from clients, insurers, and other stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation of payment requests and tracking of payment statuses
  • Perform ad hoc administrative tasks as required or assigned by the Claims team

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma and/or Degree in any discipline
  • Candidates with relevant experience in insurance or insurance broking will be an advantage
  • Fresh graduates with a keen interest in insurance are welcome to apply

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (charts, tables, formatting)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive team player who is also capable of working independently
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous process improvement
