Job description

The Civil Structural Engineer will be responsible for the civil and structural design of underground energy storage sites in Singapore. The role involves foundational design, waterproofing strategies, and ensuring the structural integrity of underground facilities. We require expertise in geotechnical analysis, compliance with local building codes, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs.

1. Underground Civil Design

  • Develop detailed civil and structural designs for underground energy storage facilities.
  • Develop layout plans for underground facilities, ensuring optimal space utilization and accessibility.

2. Foundational Design

  • Conduct geotechnical evaluations to assess soil and rock conditions for informed foundation designs.
  • Design stable and robust foundations capable of withstanding operational loads, seismic forces, and environmental stresses.

3. Waterproofing and Drainage

  • Develop waterproofing strategies to protect underground structures against groundwater ingress.
  • Design drainage systems to manage water flow and prevent pooling or flooding.

4. Structural Analysis

  • Perform structural analysis to ensure stability, durability, and safety under operational and environmental conditions.
  • Incorporate seismic design principles to mitigate risks from earthquakes.

5. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure designs comply with Singapore’s building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare and submit technical documentation and reports for regulatory approvals.

6. Collaboration and Project Management

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and project engineers.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and third-party consultants during construction.
  • Oversee site inspections to ensure design adherence and quality control.

Requirements:
