Job description

Job Responsibilities

* Inspect project sites and monitor progress, ensuring work done conforms to safety standards and design specifications, and determine if changes or adjustments are needed.
* Test materials and soils to assess the strength of concrete, steel, asphalt, and foundations of buildings.
* Utilize computer-assisted design (CAD) and other drawing tools to plan and design various systems and structures, including roadways, buildings, water systems, and tunnels.
* Lead and participate in surveying activities to lay out installations, establish grades, reference points, and elevations to guide construction.
* Calculate design specifications by analyzing grade, load requirements, and material stress factors.
* Manage and oversee operations, construction, and maintenance activities at project sites.
* Prepare reports on topics such as deeds, bid proposals, property descriptions, and environmental impact statements.
* Ensure all activities comply with environmental, governmental, and safety regulations, and address any non-compliance issues.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience or coursework in AutoCAD.
Preferred: Previous experience in an engineering field.
OSHA training and certification.
Prior work on geotechnical, waste management, or environmental projects.
