We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our Data Centre environment within a highly regulated banking environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data center networking, automation, and security to support mission-critical financial applications.
Key Accountabilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Cisco ACI and EVPN environments.
- Provide level 3 network support with 24x7 escalation.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date network topology diagrams, runbooks, and change records.
- Collaborate with vendors (Cisco TAC, Service Providers) for escalations and troubleshooting.
- Prepare audit reports and participate in risk assessments for network security.
- Organize meetings with internal or external teams and engage the appropriate team or person to deliver projects on time.
Job Requirements
- Over 8 years of experience supporting complex banking IT environments or equivalent, including 5+ years in network implementation focusing on Cisco ACI, especially in Multi-Site, Multi-Pod setups.
- Experience with Cisco and Arista products, especially DCI technology, FabricPath, OTV, VXLAN, VPC+, MLAG.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols such as PBR, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and EVPN.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
- Knowledge of Python and Linux shell scripting is an advantage.
- Certifications such as CCIE or equivalent are an advantage.
Additional Responsibilities
- Gather business and application requirements to plan, design, install, test, and implement systems according to specifications and service levels.
- Align or enhance ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operations (Change, Incident, Problem, Release Management, CMDB).
- Monitor and measure system performance and availability proactively; implement corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide resolutions; communicate status updates.
- Implement service continuity measures, including backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans.
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
- Assist in preparing proposals and solution presentations.
- Lead a team of network engineers.
- Evaluate the internal and external business environment to develop long-term strategies.
- Apply business and financial knowledge to address issues and drive business growth.
- Promote effective operations across multiple regions and coordinate with global teams.
- Attain key certifications to strengthen vendor partnerships.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in System Integration or implementing network systems.
- Experience in configuring network products like routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls.
- Familiarity with Cisco F5, Checkpoint, and F5 load balancers is a plus.
- Certifications in network products are a plus.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technology to customers.
