Job summary

Julia Gabriel Centre Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Mandarin educator to teach Chinese language programmes, including preschool and drama-focused offerings.

The role involves leading a team, developing curricula, and collaborating with the Head of Mandarin Department to implement new programmes. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or Chinese studies, and demonstrate excellent Mandarin language skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Chinese Studies, Chinese Language or related field.
• Experience teaching Chinese Preschool, Speech & Drama, or language certification programmes.
• Excellent spoken and written Mandarin; ability to teach Mandarin language programmes.
• Positive, energetic, and good team player.
• Weekend work availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mandarin classes following the Centre’s programme.
• Lead and supervise team members under responsibility.
• Conduct regular team meetings to address concerns and needs.
• Provide solutions and feedback to Head of Mandarin Department or Director.
• Identify long-term needs and growth of teachers, programmes, departments, students and parents.
• Assist and support Head of Mandarin Department in developing new programmes and projects.
• Support daily operations of the department and programmes.
• Liaise with parents as required.

Job Description:

• Teach Mandarin classes in accordance with the Centre’s programme.
• To lead and supervise team members under their responsibility
• Conduct regular team meetings to enable members of the team to air their concerns and needs
• Recommend solutions to solve problems and provide feedback to the Head of Mandarin Department or Director
• Identify the long-term needs and growth of teachers, programmes, departments, students and parents
• Assist and support the Head of Mandarin Department in the implementation and development of new programmes and projects
• Support the Head of Mandarin Department in the day-to-day running of the department and programmes
• To liaise with parents where necessary

Job Requirements:

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education / Chinese Studies / Chinese Language or other related degrees from reputable universities.
• To teach Chinese Preschool / Speech & Drama / Language certification programmes
• Excellent spoken and written Mandarin Language - Necessary to teach Chinese Language programmes
• Positive, energetic and a good team player
• Must be able to work on weekends
