Job summary

Ancourage Academy in Bishan and Woodlands seeks a Full-time Chinese Language Teacher & Curriculum Developer. You will teach small classes (up to six) and provide targeted feedback while developing resources to help students progress. You’ll also explore AI-assisted tools and collaborate on curriculum projects.

The role covers Preschool to Higher Chinese and JC courses, with online elements and rostered hours. January 2027 start with growth opportunities within the language programme.

Qualifications

• Strong spoken and written Mandarin proficiency.
• Sound knowledge of at least one relevant age group, course or teaching level.
• Professional communication with students, parents and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn from feedback and contribute to shared resources.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver regular lessons within your agreed scope.
• Build students’ confidence in speaking and participating in Chinese.
• Teach vocabulary and language structures through clear explanations and meaningful examples.
• Develop reading comprehension, writing and oral communication according to the level.
• Use age-appropriate stories, conversations, texts and activities to make learning engaging.
• Identify language gaps and provide targeted practice and encouragement.
• Mark work carefully and give feedback students can understand and use.
• Create and improve worksheets, reading resources, composition activities, oral practice and assessment materials.
• Check language accuracy, natural phrasing, appropriate difficulty and syllabus relevance.
• Track progress and communicate learning goals and next steps to parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and development projects.
