Job summary

FAITH METHODIST CHURCH is seeking a passionate Chinese Pre-School Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children aged 3 to 6. You will design and deliver developmentally appropriate curricula and build strong relationships with children and families.

The role requires a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Diploma in Pre-school Teaching, ECDA L2 qualification, and strong communication skills; experience in early childhood pedagogy is valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Diploma in Pre-school Teaching required.
• ECDA-certified L2 qualification essential.
• Experience in pre-school or childcare setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and early childhood pedagogy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson activities aligned with NEL framework and iTeach principles.
• Observe, document, and assess children's development; maintain portfolios and progress records.
• Design and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.

Pre-School Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chinese Pre-School Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children (age 3 to age 6). You will design and deliver developmentally appropriate curricula, build strong relationships with children and families, and contribute to a collaborative teaching culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson activities aligned with NEL learning framework and iTeach principles
• Observe, document, and assess children's development; maintain portfolios and progress records
• Design and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children through meaningful interactions and positive guidance strategies
• Ensure children's health, safety, and well-being at all times; monitor allergies/medical conditions and report any concerns promptly
• Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, newsletters, and updates; involve families in their child's learning journey
• Collaborate with co-teachers and community stakeholders on curriculum planning and school-wide initiatives
• Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to strengthen teaching competencies
• Uphold the centre's core values, vision, and code of ethics in daily interactions with children, families, and colleagues

Requirements

• Candidates must possess at least a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Diploma in Pre-school Teaching
• ECDA-certified L2 qualification
• Prior experience teaching in a pre-school or childcare setting preferred
• Strong understanding of child development and early childhood pedagogy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children, parents, and colleagues effectively
