The Role
We are looking for a CTO. The CTO will drive the company’s overall technology direction, ensuring technical excellence, product scalability, and security compliance. As a member of the executive team, you will work closely with senior leadership across product, operations, and stakeholder engagement to align tech outcomes with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Define and lead the end-to-end technology roadmap, aligned with the company's mission and business objectives.
- Monitor technological trends and translate them into actionable plans.
- Advocate for continuous innovation and experimentation in both product and infrastructure.
2. Engineering & Software Delivery
- Oversee all phases of software development, from design and architecture to deployment and maintenance.
- Champion modern engineering practices (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD).
- Implement and uphold strong QA, compliance, and cybersecurity frameworks.
3. Research & Development
- Direct R&D efforts focused on solving emerging challenges
- Forge partnerships with academia, research bodies, and technology providers to accelerate innovation.
4. Technical Leadership & Talent Management
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engineers and architects.
- Develop a sustainable technical talent pipeline, fostering a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.
- Set standards for technical excellence and performance.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product and Operations to translate complex user needs into technical solutions.
- Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and external partners, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance across the organisation.
6. Risk, Governance & Security
- Identify and mitigate technology-related risks early and effectively.
- Establish disaster recovery plans, security protocols, and incident response workflows.
- Ensure compliance with national standards for cybersecurity and data protection.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 14+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior technology leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale software development in secure, high-stakes environments.
- Deep expertise in cloud/on-prem infrastructure, software architecture, cybersecurity, and emerging tech such as AI, data analytics, and DevOps.
- Track record of driving innovation, managing diverse tech teams, and delivering impact at scale.
