Chief Technology Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define architectural principles and patterns, and work with delivery teams to apply them.
2. Own the discovery process from a technology perspective, refining requirements and exploring opportunities for delivery teams.
3. Collaborate closely with tech leads, DevOps, security and the wider business to define and oversee the overall architecture.
4. Ensure developed systems meet their non-functional requirements (e.g. security, maintainability, scalability and performance).
5. Standardise architectural artifacts and ensure adequate documentation and diagrams are being maintained.
6. Participate in vendor selection processes, leveraging expertise when making “buy vs build vs reuse” decisions.
7. Manage and oversee outsourced IT services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
8. Manage communication with all business stakeholders, including the Board and Senior Management.

Key Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree or higher and at least 10+ years in software development or architecture roles.
2. Comfortable communicating in both English and Mandarin.
3. Highly organized and comfortable holding teams accountable and has management experience in leading a technical team of more than 100 engineers.
4. Ability to connect business requirements to technology standards and architectures.
5. Experience managing and overseeing remote outsourced IT services in compliance with industry requirements.
6. Understands and ensures full responsibility to adeptly address operational risks including resiliency, recovery, availability and security.
7. Full stack technology acumen from business application through infrastructure.
8. Experience with complex containerised microservices, service-oriented architectures, event-driven architectures, message queues and streaming technologies, preferably Kafka would be a plus.
9. Exposure across application, solution, cloud, security and enterprise architecture.
10. Crypto Exchange background will be highly preferred.
