Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in market risk management within financial services.
• Minimum 5 years of experience covering commodity markets, including metals products.
• Experience analysing impact of events on risk positions via scenario analysis and risk assessment.
• Experience working with derivatives across flow and structured products in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Metals build-out globally with focus on APAC by engaging Front Office traders and Strats to enable risk management of new products.
• Review exposures, valuations, and market activity with Front Office, sharing clear insights within risk appetite.
• Provide inclusive market risk oversight across Metals, highlighting emerging risks and stress vulnerabilities.
• Oversee daily monitoring of exposures against limits and escalate as needed in a supportive manner.
• Coordinate with Valuation Risk, Market Risk Analysis and Control, and Risk Methodology Strategy teams for consistent risk metrics and reporting.
• Contribute to robust control infrastructure, valuation processes, and risk methodologies, including change programs.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with traders, risk partners and control teams to provide thoughtful, structured market risk oversight that supports sustainable business growth. Your key responsibilities:

• Support Metals build out, both globally but in particular APAC region, by engaging stakeholders, including Front Office trading and Strats teams to ensure we have capabilities in place to effectively risk-manage new products
• Partner cooperatively with Front Office trading teams to review exposures, valuations, new products and market activity, sharing clear insights and supporting sound judgment within agreed risk appetite
• Provide inclusive market risk oversight across the Metals business, highlighting emerging risks, stress vulnerabilities and concentration themes with care and clarity
• Oversee daily monitoring of exposures against limits, escalating matters in a considered and supportive way where needed
• Coordinate with Valuation Risk, Market Risk Analysis and Control, and Risk Methodology Strategy teams to ensure consistent, dependable risk metrics, stress testing and reporting frameworks
• Support the development, maintenance and understanding of effective control infrastructure, valuation processes and risk methodologies, including change programs to achieve such outcome
• Contribute to a positive risk culture built on trust, openness and shared responsibility

Your skills and experience:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in market risk management within an investment banking, global financial markets, commodities trading, or comparable financial services environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience covering commodity markets, including metals products, market risk assessment, and physical logistics or supply chain considerations.
• Experience analysing the impact of financial and economic events on market behaviour and risk positions through scenario analysis and risk assessment.
• Experience working with derivatives across flow and structured products in a regulated environment
• Ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly, empathetically and responsibly across diverse stakeholder groups
• Commitment to high standards of integrity, dependable conduct and collaborative working
