Qualifications

• Must hold Chief Mate Certificate of Competence recognised by Singapore flag.
• Singapore Pilotage Exemption Certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as Deck department team leader in emergencies.
• Maintain hull, deck fixtures and crew areas in clean condition.
• Maintain discipline within the deck department.
• Administer deck stores and equipment; record maintenance.
• Ensure safe navigational watch and ship safety.
• Act as Ship Security Officer and Garbage Management Coordinator.
• Oversee cargo handling, ballast operations and cargo plans.
• Record incidents and promote safe working practices.
