Job description

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Chief Legal Officer to join our Singapore office. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a proven track record in business partnering and broad based knowledge on product and regulatory risk for our anime licensing and fan participation platform. An ideal candidate must be able to operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. Experience in a top tier law firm is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal Strategy: Define and lead our overall legal, compliance, and regulatory strategy.
• Web3/Crypto Compliance: Ensure our platform and token ecosystem comply with evolving global crypto regulations (SEC, MiCA, Japan’s FSA, etc.).
• IP & Licensing: Build frameworks for anime IP rights, licensing agreements, royalty splits, and community-based co-ownership models.
• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts with anime studios, investors, token holders, and creators.
• Risk Management: Identify and manage legal risks as we expand across jurisdictions.
• Corporate Governance: Oversee corporate legal matters, investor relations, and board governance.
• Business partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal support aligns with business objectives.

Who You Are:

• A law degree from a top-tier university; legally qualified in UK or another common law jurisdiction.
• 12 - 15 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 2 - 3 years in a leadership or team management role.
• A commercially minded professional with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Broad based knowledge surrounding blockchain law, securities regulation, token structuring, IP licensing, AI governance, data privacy and digital platform compliance.
