Job description

This private equity–backed energy company is executing a roll-up strategy and seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the technology vision and IT integration strategy. This role is critical in transforming a fragmented IT landscape into a unified, future-ready platform capable of supporting aggressive growth and maximizing value creation.
The incumbent will be responsible for building a scalable technology foundation to support rapid M&A activity, harmonize systems across acquired entities, and drive digital innovation that enhances operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive the overall IT strategy in alignment with business growth and private equity goals, positioning technology as a key enabler of innovation and scalability while advising executive leadership on digital transformation.
  • Lead IT M&A efforts, due diligence and post-acquisition integration, ensuring standardization, risk mitigation, and seamless unification of systems to maximize deal synergies and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a secure, scalable, and unified IT infrastructure across all sites, optimizing systems, service delivery, and vendor management to support rapid expansion.
  • Implement a robust cybersecurity framework to protect infrastructure and data, ensuring regulatory compliance and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Build and lead a results-driven IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement to support organizational growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
  • A minimum of 18 years experience as a CIO or senior IT executive, ideally in private equity–backed and / or labour-intensive businesses
  • Demonstrated success leading post-merger integrations and IT harmonization in a fast-paced, acquisitive company.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, asset management, etc.), cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex technology strategies to non-technical audiences, including investors and board members.
