About the role

We are helping our client hire a Chief Financial Officer to lead its global finance function. This is an excellent step-up opportunity for experienced Financial Controllers or an exciting challenge for CFOs with strong project accounting expertise. You will drive financial strategy, manage risks on millions dollar projects, and lead a global finance team of 40, supported by a Senior Finance Manager and Finance Manager.

What you'll be doing

1. Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the executive team

2. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and financial reports

3. Oversee project accounting for multi-million-dollar projects

4. Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making

5. Manage the company's financial risks and ensure regulatory compliance

6. Lead and mentor a high-performing global finance team

7. Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives

8. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

9. Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives

10. Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and external stakeholders.

What we're looking for

1. Qualified accountant with 10+ years of experience in a senior financial management role

2. Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting

3. Chartered Accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA); MBA is an advantage.

4. Proven track record in project accounting and risk management for large projects.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders

6. Experience in leading and developing high-performing finance teams

7. Proficient in financial systems and technologies

8. Ambitious, energetic, and capable of stepping up into a strategic CFO role
